The Instigators continued to pick up steam this week with an excellent second installment. Tom was joined by the Brick, NHL Hall of Famer and former Bruin Brian Leetch, and former sixth round draft pick of the Penguins Ian Moran.
The issue of realignment came up because the Atlanta Thrashers were shipped out to Winnipeg, but still reside in the Southeast Division.
We do not think the time is right for a radical realignment. Phoenix might move (hopefully to Quebec) in the near future so the Sully’s Crew advocates a quick fix over complete overhaul. We see the most equitable and easy solution to be ship Winnipeg to the Central Division for either Columbus or Nashville. There has been talk of moving Detroit into the east, but considering all their usual dominance, we hope the Red Wings stay with their natural rivals out west.
If the Quebec Nordiques are revived like the Winnipeg Jets, all the league will need to reunite the classic Adams division is the Hartford Whalers. It makes a lot more sense than the Florida Panthers ever did.
