The Instigators: Episode Twenty – No Crosby, No Problem

Posted by on

Our favorite topic from this week’s installment of the Instigators centered on how the Penguins continue to succeed with All-Stars Crosby and Malkin. There are whispers of Fleury getting consideration for MVP. While Fleury has played very well, only the very best goaltenders usually win MVP and he has not had that type of an amazing season. Letang might not finish in the top three, but he will definitely receive some Norris Trophy consideration. Kunitz finally started scoring goals again this season at a good clip. Jordan Staal has been great since returning to the line-up. Neal has been a solid pick-up. Coach Bylsma is the odds on favorite for the Jack Adams Award and continues to push all the right buttons. If Philly continues to blow it, the Pens might claim the division crown on the last day of the season.
Even with all those positives, I do not think the Penguins can make it to the Stanley Cup Finals without Crosby. Would be interesting to see them face-off against the Bruins (like old times) in the playoffs.
